Grant Predictions: What other trends have we noticed?

We work with a wide range of nonprofits across the United States. This includes organizations large and small, established and new. We have studied a lot of foundations, and one trend that we are noticing is that foundations are increasingly focusing on underserved communities.

This trend has been gaining momentum in the last few years, and we continue to see increased emphasis on underserved populations. This is good news to our nonprofit partners doing work in human and social services. While more foundations are placing emphasis on these populations, these causes should still be handled carefully if a funder’s stance is unknown. This is our final grant prediction.

Grant Prediction 6: Foundation giving will increase for nonprofits providing services to underserved communities. This is the time to apply to more foundations. Contact us if you need help. 

Conclusion:

What does this all mean for you and your nonprofit? Well, my “crystal ball” analyses might read a little like a fortune cookie prediction. Some of this year’s trends may mean more foundation giving for organizations, especially those who reach underserved populations. But other trends may lead to a more competitive grant market with fewer grant professionals to do the work.
